I am currently recruiting for an Investment Director in Cardiff for one of the UK’s leading discretionary Investment Management firms, focusing on providing and managing bespoke investment portfolios for private clients, trusts, charities and pension funds.
The company currently has over £45b AUM.
The salary banding is generous paying between £80,000 to £120,000 on the basic which is relevant to experience and history. This is negotiable.
The real incentive is the Net New Money scheme. This runs over a 2.6 year period. In the first two years when you bring in £30m, you are awarded 1.4% of all the £30m = a £420,000 bonus. This works on a sliding scale, so if you bring £50m, it will be at 1.57% which = £785,000 bonus. If you were to bring in £100m over a 2.6 year period, the bonus then goes to 2% of the £100m, = £2 million bonus!!!
This runs along side the usual company bonus scheme.
The real selling point here is who the company is, how good their proposition is, what they are doing and where they are going.
The compensation scheme is extremely attractive having been designed to motivate Investment Managers to move.
